When registering a trademark, the client faced a refusal from the USPTO due to the existence of previously registered marks of other companies. REVERA helped the client to negotiate with other right holders and to prepare and sign coexistence agreements with them.

Domain disputes under UDRP

REVERA worked out and implemented the strategy to combat illegal utilization of the client’s TMs in 20+ domain names, revealed and blocked some of the domains, and initiated UDRP procedures against the rest of the domains. The actions of the perpetrators distracted traffic from the client's websites and involved elements of phishing.

Digital advertising platform

Advising the plaintiff - an international advertising platform - in a dispute under English law against a company from Malta regarding the terms of online SaaS Terms of Service. REVERA team helped the plaintiff to recover the principal debt and damages.

Fintech and AI solutions developer

REVERA’s advice included conducting IP due diligence, supporting the transfer of IP rights within the corporate structures and unifying intellectual property rights agreements with developers and counterparties.

Arbitration dispute under the hybrid contract

Arbitration dispute under English law at the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris), where REVERA represented a major Leisure & Entertainment company from the CIS against an Irish company for recovery of the principal debt and damages under a hybrid contract (supply and licence agreement). The case was won in favour of the client.

Countering a cyber-squatter attack

A series of disputes between a Maltese gambling company and a cybersquatter about the unauthorized use of the trademarks and trade name in the digital environment. The cybersquatter actively resisted actions to block illegal materias, and attempted to spread defamatory statements about the client. REVERA worked out an anti-cybersquatting strategy, protected the Maltese company's IP, blocked fake accounts and sites, and removed defamatory publications.

Portable radiation detector with exclusive software

REVERA filed an international trademark application, and amended the address of the applicant for the underlying EU and US trademark application. REVERA managed to file an application with preservation of conventional priority, in countries with complicated procedures (Canada, Japan, Australia, India, China).

Software for remote work

Advice on setting up the business in Poland and employing staff who are residents of different countries. REVERA Polska also helped the client with the transfer of IP rights to their main assets, and formalizing relations with their employees and contractors taking into account the purpose of organizing the safe work of the team with IP. As a result, the client has become a well-operated Polish business ready to raise the funds from several investors.

Growing gambling business

REVERA Polska helped the client to protect their brand name and the names of their slots. The difficulty with this project was that the client mostly used very risky names in terms of absolute grounds of refusal. However, they could not quit using these names since they were very catchy from a marketing point of view.

A studio that creates multiplayer online games

A trademark and passing-off dispute between the client and a top-level UK gamedev company in relation to the game released on Google Play Market and Apple App Store. REVERA helped the client to protect its game and TM from the claims and to initiate a counter-offensive against TMs owned by the UK company. REVERA conducted negotiations with the UK company to reach a coexistence settlement.
